Suppose 6 adults produce 192 lb of garbage in one week. At this rate, how many pounds will 35 adults produce in one week?

QUESTION POSTED AT 14/02/2020 - 04:34 PM

Answered by admin AT 14/02/2020 - 04:34 PM

6:192
we have to simplify this so we can use it in terms of adults so we need to make the left side 1, to do this we divide both sides by 6:
1:32
Now we multiply both sides by 35:
35:1120
Therefore 35 adults will produce 1120 pounds of garbage in a week.

Hope this helps :)

Two pounds of dried cranberries call $5.04 , 3 pounds of dried cranberries cost $7.56, and 7 pounds of dried cranberries cost $17.64 . Which equation gives the total cost of y of x pounds of dried cranberries. A. y=1.68x B. y=2.52x C. y=3.04x D. y=5.04x

To solve this we have to find the unit rate.
To do that we do 5.04/3=2.52
We could also do 7.56/2.52
Or 17.64/7=2.52

So we now know the unit rate is 2.52
And there is no y-intercept so

Y=2.52x

So B is the correct answer

PLEASE HELP ITS URGENT (45 POINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Suppose f(x)=√x+1 a. What are the domain and range of f? b. Find f^-1(x). What are its domain and range? c. Show that (fof^-1)(a)=a=(f^-1of)(a) for any a in the respective domains d. Solve the equation f(x)=f^-1(x). Remember to check for extraneous roots e. Graph the functions f and f^-1. Be sure that you accurately represent the domains of each function. Interpret graphically the solutions you found to the equation in part (d).

A.
domain is th enumbers you can use
remember you cannot take square root of a negative
also you cannot divide by 0

domain is all real numbers except those that result in a square root of a negative or division by 0
domain is how far left or right the graph goes

range is the output from inputing the domain, it is how far up and down the graph goes

a. domain is
hmm, squaerr root
see under parenthasees
x+1
so x≥0 is the domain
domain is x≥0
so then the range is from 0 to infinity or y≥0

b. replace f(x) with y and switch x and y and solve for y
y=√(x+1)
x=√(y+1)
square
x²=y+1
x²-1=y
f⁻¹(x)=x²-1
domain is all real numbers
range, this is a parabola, when it gets to x=0, y=-1 that is minimum
range is y≥-1 or from -1 to infinity

basicaly show that f(f⁻¹(x))=x=f⁻¹(f(x))

so if you did that
f(f⁻¹(x))=√(x²-1+1)
f(f⁻¹(x))=√(x²)
f(f⁻¹(x))=x

reverse

f⁻¹(f(x))=(√(x+1))²-1
f⁻¹(f(x))=x+1-1
f⁻¹(f(x))=x

d.
√(x+1)=x²-1
squaer both sides
x+1=x⁴-2x²+1
minus x both sides and minus 1
0=x⁴-2x²-x
factor
0=(x)(x+1)(x²-x-1)
x=0 and x=-1 and 0.5+0.5√5 and 0.5-0.5√5
test them
wait, the last one isn't in the domain
if we did x=0, then we get 1=-1, false

the soltions are x=-1 and  \frac{1+ \sqrt{5} }{2}

Factor completely: 2x3 + 10x2 + 14x + 70 (2x2 + 14)(x + 5) (x2 + 7)(2x + 10) 2(x3 + 5x2 + 7x + 35) 2[(x2 + 7)(x + 5)]

Answer:

Option (a) is correct.

The complete factors of the given polynomial  2x^3+10x^2+14x+70  is  (2x^2+14)(x+5)

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: A Polynomial 2x^3+10x^2+14x+70

We have to find the factors of the given polynomial  2x^3+10x^2+14x+70  and choose the correct from the given options.

Consider the given polynomial  2x^3+10x^2+14x+70

We will solve using grouping of terms,

Taking 2x^2 common from first two terms and 14 common from last two terms, we have,

=2x^2(x+5)+14(x+5)

Now, Taking (x + 5) common, we have,

=(2x^2+14)(x+5)

Thus, The complete factors of the given polynomial  2x^3+10x^2+14x+70  is  (2x^2+14)(x+5)
