Any suggestion on how to make this essay better? Also I don't know where I should put paragraph breaks: I am a botanist or a plant scientist. I study botany, or in other words, the science of plants. As a botanist, it’s my job to study plants. I study everything I can about plants, no matter what they look like. I study plant anatomy, like genetics, structure and chemical makeup; plant physiology, like the effects of temperature, light, and humidity; plant processes, such as reproduction, respiration and photosynthesis; and plant economics, including the cultivation of plants for food, fibers, and pharmaceuticals. My average salary for my career is $64,992 and the largest salary I could earn is $90,490. As a botanist, I travel on some days, do plant experiments in greenhouses, but I’m usually stuck in a lab looking through a microscope at plant cells. There are more than three hundred thousand species of plants that we know of, meaning there is always more that we don’t know of about these plants to be discovered. There are different types of botanists, like agronomists that specialize in the study of crops and grasses, marine botanists that study plant life in the ocean, and plant taxonomists that identify and classify plants. Many botanists, like myself, teach in colleges and universities. Although there many different types of botanists we all study some sort of plant. Botanists use different types of equipment like microscopes to do their work. Botanists may work alone or in a team. Most entry-level botanists need a bachelor's or master's degree in botany, plant science, biology or something similar. If you want a more advanced position, you will need a doctoral degree. I hope this educated you on botanists and maybe even convince you a little to become a botanist like I did.

C) Romeo and Juliet are shy characters who usually avoid social events. D) Romeo and Juliet have yet to discover that they are from feuding families.

Answer:

Letter A.

Explanation:

What we can conclude from the excerpt given: First, that Romeo shows Juliet his intetion to kiss her, and she accepts.

'...while my prayers’ effect I take. Thus from my lips, by thine, my sin is purg’d.'

His 'sin' being to have asked the 'Saint to grant him Juliet's kiss.' - to which she replies 'Saints do not move, though grant for prayers’ sake.' meaning that no saint can grant him her kiss for him (he must take it himself). Then he purges his sin from his lips by hers. (kisses her).

After kissing, she jests that her lips now have his sin, to which he replies that he wants his sin back (demands a new kiss) - This reveals that they have found in each other a suitable partner.

And this new grief we bore with us to sea: our precious lives we had, but not our friends. No ship made sail next day until some shipmate had raised a cry, three times, for each poor ghost unfleshed by the Cicones on that field. What theme is best revealed by this conflict?

Answer:

I would say that the theme revealed by this conflict in the excerpt is grief / sorrow.

Explanation:

In this excerpt, the speaker talks from a very sensitive position, talks about how beautiful their lives was, like if he or she felt nostalgic about the life they had, and how difficult it is to let go. It feels that the speaker is talking about the grief process, the sorrow he / she feels "for each poor ghost unfleshed by the Cicones on that field".

Reread this quotation from near the end of “Walden Pond”: Many a forenoon have I stolen away, preferring to spend thus the most valued part of the day; for I was rich, if not in money, in sunny hours and summer days, and spent them lavishly; nor do I regret that I did not waste more of them in the workshop or the teacher’s desk. Explain this quotation. Be sure to address the “wealth” Thoreau claims, his use of that wealth, and his views of the workshop or school

I assume he's saying he's glad he spent his days the way he did, he enjoyed life for what it was worth outside of business, and even though he was not rich, he was still happy. He doesn't regret the fact that he wasn't working, to him. He's saying it would of been wasted time indoors, unable to experience life for what it's worth past the currency of the world. In the beginning I'm sure he was also stating that you should never waste people's time, and have them work for you.
