Hello :
the common ratio is m 20/100=0.8/4=1/5 = 0.2= r
the nth term is :  An =A1 × r^(n-1)
if n=5  the 5th term is : A5 = 100×(0.2)^(5-1) = 100×0.16 =16

Angles 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11 are corresponding while angles 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 are corresponding
angles 8 and 7 are supplementary
since 4 and 8 are corresponding, angle 4 is 132° so angle 8 would also be 132°
180-132=48

Given points A(4,5) and B(-4,11). Find the distance AB to the nearest tenth.

If A(x', y') & B(x",y") the the distance AB is given by the following formula:

AB =√[(x"-x')² + (y"-y')²]

Plug into the above with A(4,5) and B(-4,11).

AB =√[(-4-4)²+(11-5)²] =√(-8)²+(6)² = √(64) + (36) =√100 = 10

Joseph received a $20 gift card for downloading music. Each downloaded song costs $1.29. Explain how to write and solve an inequality that can be used to determine the number of songs that he can purchase. Interpret the solution.

Let x be the number of songs downloaded.
Each song is $1.29; the total cost would be found by multiplying the cost by the number of songs, or 1.29x.
This cannot be more than 20, so we set this less than or equal to 20:
1.29x ≤ 20.

To solve this, we divide both sides by 1.29:
 \frac{1.29x}{1.29}  ≤  \frac{20}{1.29} ;
x ≤15.5.

We cannot download half of a song, so we round this down to 15 (although the number rounds up mathematically, he would not have enough money to download 16 songs). This means he can download at most 15 songs.

The lengths of three sides of a triangle are given. Determine whether each triangle is a right triangle. 1. 14 m, 5 m, 4 m 2. 3 in., 4 in., 5 in. Are these right triangles?

In a right triangle, the hypotenuse is always the longest side.  Plus, the hypotenuse squared has to equal the sum of the squares of the other 2 sides.  For the first "triangle" above: does 14 ^{2} =5 ^{2} +4 ^{2} ?  Let's check.  196 = 25 + 16 so does 196 = 41?  Obviously not.  So that is not a right triangle.  Let's check the second one the same way.  Does 5 ^{2} =3 ^{2} +4 ^{2} ?  25 = 9 + 16.  Does 25 = 25?  Of course it does!  So 1 is not a right triangle, but 2 is!

A bag of coins contains 2 quarters, 5 dimes, 3 nickels, and 4 pennies. If 2 coins are randomly chosen from the bag, one after the other, and not replaced, and if the total value of the chosen coins is 26 cents, what is the probability that a third coin randomly chosen from the bag will be a penny?

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

The 2 coins that have a combined value of 26 cents are a quarter and a penny. That means that 1 quarter and 1 penny must have already been removed from the bag. For this reason, the bag now contains 1 quarter, 5 dimes, 3 nickels, and 3 pennies. Therefore, the probability that a third coin randomly chosen from the bag will be a penny is

The first three terms of a geometric sequence are shown below. What is the eighth term of the sequence? A. -128x^8-384x^7 B. 128x^8+384x^7 C. 256x^9+768x^8 D. -256x^9-768x^8

Answer:

Option A is correct.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

First term, a = x + 3

second term = -2x² - 6x

Third term = 4x³ + 12x²

Common ratio, r = \frac{-2x^2-6x}{x+3}=\frac{-2x(x+3)}{x+3}=-2x

nth term of GP is gievn by, a_n=ar^{n-1}

So, Eight term = a_8=(x+3)(-2x)^{8-1}=(x+3)(-2x)^{7}=-128x^8-384x^7

Therefore, Option A is correct.

Triangle ABD is similar to triangle ACD. AB = 10, BC = 12, BE = 4, and CD = y. Find y.

There is a mistake in your writing
:The similar triangles should be ABE (& not ABD as you stated) & ACD

If so, we can write the following proportion:

AB/AC = BE/CD.
We know that AB =10, BE=4, AC= 10 + BC (BC =12, Given), so AC =22
Plug into the above: 10/22 =4/y===> y= (22 x 4)/10===> y =44/5 =8.8

1)2x=4 -> 4/2 = 2 so x=2

2) y=0

3) x=3

4) 2y + (3*3y) = -15
11y=-15
y = -15/11

A teacher gave his students the four graphs below. Which graph represents a geometric sequence?

The arithmetic sequences always graph as points along a line.

In a geometric sequence, each term is equal to the previous term, multiplied (or divided) by a constant.

The  exponential functions have a very special property:

equal changes in the input cause the output to be successively multiplied by a constant.

Geometric sequences also have this same special property:geometric sequences always graph as points along the graph of an exponential function.

The sequence 6.25,12.5,25,50,100 is a geometric sequence  so its graph will represent a geometric sequence.
