**Answer:**

The perimeter of both shapes is equal.

**Step-by-step explanation:**

We have been Anthony drew a pentagon with each side measuring 6 inches.

We know that perimeter of a regular polygon is n times the side length of polygon, where n represents number of sides in a polygon.

We know that a pentagon has 5 sides, so perimeter of pentagon would be .

Carol drew hexagon with each side measuring 5 inches. We know that a hexagon has 6 sides, so perimeter of hexagon would be .

**Therefore, the perimeter of both shapes is equal.**

QUESTION POSTED AT 05/12/2019 - 06:12 PM

Well first of all, that's not a square. On a square, all 4 sides are

the same, and the length is the same distance as the width. If the

width of a square is 6, and all four sides are the same, then the

perimeter is (4 x 6) = 24.

So the shape in your question may be a rectangle, but it's definitely

not a square one.

The perimeter is the distance an ant has to walk if you put him down

on one corner and he walks all the way around the shape until he gets

back to where he started from.

That's the perimeter.

If you set the ant down on the corner of a rectangle, then he walks the

length, then the width, the the length again, then the width again, and

he's back where he started.

That was 2 lengths and 2 widths ... the perimeter of every rectangle.

Take 2 widths away from the perimeter, and you have 2 lengths left. OK ?

You said that the width of your rectangle is 6. Two widths is 12.

Take the 2 widths away from the perimeter, and you're left with (20 - 12) = 8.

But that's 2 lengths !

So the length is half of 8 =

Perimeter is basically the combines sum of all the bedroom's sides. It is a rectangle, therefore the formula is 2L+2W=P.

Since you are given the overall perimeter, you just plug-in the info you already have into the question. Like this: 2(11)+2(W)=46

Then solve the equation.

(2*11)+2W=46

22+2W=46

2W= 24

W=12 Feet. The width is 12 feet.

QUESTION POSTED AT 05/12/2019 - 09:00 AM

Here is the equation:

Your goal is to get a number variable

2w+2(3w+9)=98

Solve the parentheses first, namely "w" by itself on one side

2w+6w+18=98

Add common values

8w+18=98

Minus 18 from both sides

8w+18-18=98-18

It is now

8w=80

Now, divide 80 by 8

80÷8=10

w=10

Lets check:

2(10)+ 2(30+9)=98

20+60+18=98

Which is correct

So that means each side of the width is 10 inches

and each length side is 39 inches

**Answer: So that means that width side is 10 inches each and each length side is 39 inches each. 10+10+39+39=98 inches**

Your goal is to get a number variable

**Answer:**

** width = 30 units .**

**Step-by-step explanation:**

Given : perimeter of 90 and a length of 15.

To find : Find the width of a rectangle.

Solution : We have given

Perimeter = 90

Length = 15.

**Perimeter of rectangle = 2 ( length+ width).**

Plugging the values

90 = 2 (15+ width).

On dividing both sides by 2

45 = 15 + width

On subtracting both sides by 15

45 - 15 = width.

30 units = width.

**Therefore, width = 30 units .**
