You  get a $50 discount because 300-250 = 50. Oringinally, you would of had to pay $300, but the store took of $50 so that you would only have to pay $250

A number is 42,300 when multiplied by 10. find the product of this number and 500.

A number multiplied by 10 will just have a zero added onto the end of it.
For example: 4x10=40
5x10=50
10x10=100

So, in this case 4,230 would be multiplied by 10 to get 42,300.

4,230x500= 2,115,000

Lydia bought a shirt at 20% off its retail price of $40. She paid 5% tax on the price after the discount. How much did Lydia pay for the shirt? Lydia bought a shirt at 20% off its retail price of $40. She paid 5% tax on the price after the discount. How much did Lydia pay for the shirt?

First, we have to find 20% of $40.00 To find it, multiply 0.20 x $40.00 and you get $8

Now, take away the 20% away from $40.00
 $40.00 - $8.00 = $32.00

Next, find 5% of $32.00 We have to multiply 0.05 x $32.00 and you get $1.60

We had $32.00 after the 20% discount, so add $32.00 + 1.60

Lydia paid $33.60 for her shirt.

School B will charge you $1,000 per semester for tuition, books and materials, but you will receive a 10% discount through your employer.

Lets set an equation for each option. 1) School A: Charge = 750 + 200 = 950 per monts. 2) School B: 1000 less 10% discount from you employer. = 1000 - 1000*0.10 = 1000 - 100 = 900. Then, youcan save money going to School B, thanks to the discount that you will receive through your employer.

Mark wrote the highest score he made on his new video game as the product 70×6,000. Use the Associative and Commutative Properties to show how Mark can calcuate this product mentally.

The correct answer is:

We can use the associative property to write 70 as 7*10. We can do this same process to write 6000 as 6*1000. This gives us:

(7*10)*(6*1000)

Using the commutative property, we can rearrange the factors of this problem

(7*6)*(10*1000)

7*6 is in our multiplication tables, and we know that powers of 10 allow us to just add the correct number of zeros. This means we would have 7*6=42, and have 4 zeros, for 420000.

One machine can make 138,800 small paperclips in one day. Another machine can make 84,250 large paper clips in one day. How many more small paper clips than large paper clips are made by two machines in one day?

Answer: There are 54,550 more small paper clips than large paper clips in one day.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Number of small paper clips in one day = 138,800

Number of large paper clips in one day = 84,250

We need to find the number of more small paper clips than large paper clips are made by two machines in one day.

Number of small paper clips - Number of large paper clips

138800-84250\\\\=54,550

Hence, there are 54,550 more small paper clips than large paper clips in one day.

Write 250 in standard form

To start, this has a value in the hundreds position: 200. This would be translated into "n * 10^2" in standard notation. We also see that we're working with more than 2 * 100 in this case, so the value that gives an "n" between 1 and 10 to set as a multiplier is 2.5. This gives "2.5 * 10^2" as a proper form.

For it to be cheaper to buy online, the 15% discount has to be greater than the shipping fee of $12. If 15% is 12, 10% is 8, so 100% is $80. Therefore, any store price of over $80 makes it cheaper to buy online.

19.30 - ( p / 100 )*19.32 = 14.01 ;
