Convert the volume of CO2 you measured in the glucose reaction to moles of CO2 using the Ideal Gas Law to solve for n. Assume P is 1 atm. n = PV/RT where P is the atmospheric pressure in the lab, V is the volume in liters of CO2, n is the number of moles of CO2, R is the gas constant 0.082 L-atm/mole-Kelvin, and T is the temperature in Kelvin. Convert the gas volume to L by dividing the volume in mL by 1000.

The assumption in this problem is that the gas, CO2, is ideal and that the ideal gas law is applicable such that,
                                     n = PV/RT
We simply substitute the given values to the equation above,
                                 n = (1 atm)(V) / (0.082 Latm/mol.K)(T)
                                           n = 12.20 V/T

What's it called when matter is broken down into smaller and smaller pieces and you can't break it down anymore? A mineral A cell A virus An atom

I believe your answer would be an atom.
Classical Greek philosophers, notably a man named Democritus, who lived in Greece in the 5th century was interested about the world around us. He thought up a very simple situation: If you cut something in half (like a log), the two pieces left can cut into even smaller pieces, which can cut again, and so on down to splinters. Yet, even a splinter could be cut in half. He questioned, "Whats the smallest that something can be cut?" He answer was that, at some very, very small size, you would reach a piece of the object that was 'atomos', Greek for uncuttable.
If you had a block of iron and let's say you kept cutting it into pieces, you would, in theory, reach an extremely small piece which could absolutely not be broken down-- it was the basic building block of iron. This was, and is, a powerful idea that gives reason for all sorts of things related to chemistry and the world we live in-- like how our bodies digest food (since everything is made up of just a limited number of types of atoms (the elements), we can ingest food in one form, break the food down into small groups of atoms, and put the atoms back together as parts of our growing bodies). Modern chemistry is formed on atomic theory. Atoms are almost unbelievably small, one of your hairs is about a million atoms wide, and a speck of dust you can see might as well contain trillions of atoms.
I got my answer and reasoning from a website called "scienceline.ucsb.edu". It goes way more into depth for your answer, you might want to check it out. I just chose bits of info that directly give reasoning as to why your answer would be An atom
Good luck on your assignment.

In photosynthesis, chlorophyll functions in changing A) glucose molecules to starch B) water and carbon dioxide to sugar C) light energy to chemical D) hydrogen bonds to water

C) light energy to chemical

The chlorophyll traps the light, then converts it and uses it to chemical energy.

The chemical energy is used in the grana and lamella of the chloroplasts to change water and carbon dioxide into glucose and oxygen.

Explain why people are searching ways to use biofuels made from plants to power cars

Biofuels have been around as long as cars have. At the start of the 20th century, Henry Ford planned to fuel his Model Ts with ethanol, and early diesel engines were shown to run on peanut oil.

But discoveries of huge petroleum deposits kept gasoline and diesel cheap for decades, and biofuels were largely forgotten. However, with the recent rise in oil prices, along with growing concern about global warming caused by carbon dioxide emissions, biofuels have been regaining popularity.

Gasoline and diesel are actually ancient biofuels. But they are known as fossil fuels because they are made from decomposed plants and animals that have been buried in the ground for millions of years. Biofuels are similar, except that they're made from plants grown today.

Biogeochemical cycles recycle water and natural elements throughout the biosphere to ensure that organisms do not run out of these substances. Thiobacillus denitrificans is a specialized species of bacteria that obtains its energy from carbon dioxide and inorganic compounds such as nitrogen in its environment. It is used in bioremediation of groundwater that contains excess nitrate. How does Thiobacillus denitrificans help bioremediate groundwater?

Thiobacillus denitrificans is a chemolithoautotrophic bacteria which can obtain energy from the oxidation of inorganic compounds like nitrogen, iron or sulphur in their environment. It is an autotrophic denitrifying bacteria that is used in the bioremediation of contaminated groundwater. The process of bioremediation is carried out by the process of denitrification.

Nitrate contamination of groundwater is of high-priority concern. In the process of denitrification by Thiobacillus denitrificans, pyrite acts as the electron donor. Other sulphur minerals also act as electron donors in the process of denitrification and help in bioremediation of the contaminated ground water. The bacteria has also been engineered for nitrate removal in water treatment systems also.

The correct answer will be-

1. production of needed energy- mitochondria

2.  production of protein- ribosomes

3.  flat sacs that package and ship vesicles outside the cell- Golgi apparatus

4. store foods or pigments- plastids

5. tubes serving as transportation channels- endoplasmic reticulum

6. contain digestive enzymes- Lysozymes

The cellular organelles perform a different function in a cell. Each organelle carries out distinct and specific functions.

2. Ribosomes- the organelle associated with the synthesis of proteins during the translation process. Thus, the ribosome is correct option.

3. Golgi apparatus- organelle is associated with the packaging and modification of the protein to be transported. Thus, the Golgi apparatus is the correct option.

4. Plastids- the organelle which contains pigments and provides color to the structure like green pigment in the chloroplast. Thus, plastid is the correct answer.

5. Endoplasmic reticulum- Orgenelle which are tubular in appearance and carry tmodify the proteins synthesised on the ribosomes. Thus, the endoplasmic reticulum is the correct option.

6. Lysosomes- The orgnelle which contains hydrlytic enezymes which hydrolyse every biomolecule. Thus, the lysosome is the correct answer.

Light takes approximately 8.3 minutes to reach the earth from the sun. If the light from another star takes about two hours to reach earth, how much farther is this star from the earth compared to the distance between the sun and earth? A) 4 times farther B) 8 times farther C) 12 times farther Eliminate D) 15 times farther

D) 15 times farther

Two hours = 120 minutes. 120 minutes divided by 8.3 minutes is a little less than 15. Therefore, this star is 15 times farther from the earth than the sun.

If energy efficiency is improved, the cost of energy would decrease and _____. A)more coal would be available B) less electricity would be used C) homes would cost significantly less D) Energy Star appliances would no longer be necessary

The correct answer is option B

The energy efficiency can be defined as the output of energy to the input of energy.

As the efficiency of energy is increasing then the consumption of electricity will be less because previously the energy was used more due to loss of energy.

But now the energy will not be lost in the form of heat or friction and the cost of energy will be less.

Earth receives thermal energy from the sun via radiation. Which of the following is a result of this energy transfer?A. There is matter to produce carbon compounds on Earth.B. Earth is a closed system in terms of energy.C. There is energy to support life on earth.D. Energy is created but not destroyed in the earth system

Answer: C. There is energy to support life on earth.

The earth receives thermal energy from the sun via. radiation. This energy is captured by chlorophyll pigments of plants and other organisms to conduct photosynthesis. The sunlight energy is necessary for synthesis of food in the form of glucose. The glucose is converted into chemical form of energy as ATP which is required for respiration process in plants. Photosynthesis and respiration both are necessary processes to sustain life of plants, which further support life of other living organisms. Therefore, energy transfer support life on earth.
