So I would set up a porportion: 7 cups flour over 5 cakes. 7/5.

Then the other half would be: x cups over 1 cake. x/1

Set the two equal to each other 7/5=x/1

Cross multiply: 5x=7

Divide to solve for x: x=7/5

x=1.4 cups.

So just used about 1.4 cups of flours per cake.

When you multiply whole numbers by 10, 100, 1000, and so on (powers of ten), you can simply “tag” as many zeros on the product as there are in the factor 10, 100, 1000 etc.There is a similar shortcut for multiplying decimal numbers by numbers such as 10, 100, and 1000:

Move the decimal point to the right as many places as there are zeros in the factor.10 × 0.49 = 04.9 = 4.9 Move the decimal point one step to the right (10 has one zero).100 × 2.65 = 265. = 265 Move the decimal point two steps to the right (100 has two zeros). The number 265. is 265 (as shown above).1000 × 0.370 = 370. = 370 1000 means we move the point three steps. Write a zero at the end of 0.37 so that the decimal point can “jump over to” that place.

QUESTION POSTED AT 28/02/2020 - 06:03 AM

This is simple. All you do is find a multiple of 6 and 8. Which is 24. So what times 8 is 24? Well 3 x 8 is 24 and what times 6 is 24? 4 x 6 is 24. So what ever you do to the bottom, you do to the top, so now the equation is 5/24 - 6/24. But we are not done. Now since we timed 6 by 4, to get 24 you times 5 x 4, which is 20. Then you times 3 x 6 because 8 x 3 is 24. So now it is 20/24 - 18/24 which is 2/24, which can be simplified into 1/12.

First we can subtract the sales tax so we are just working with what's left: $17 - $0.92 = $16.08. Then we multiply the price of the sandwiches by 2 for the number Corey bought: 5.25 x 2 = $10.50. Then subtract that amount from what you have left: $16.08 - 10.50 = 5.58. Then, take that amount and divide it by three drinks: $5.58 / 3(drinks) = $1.86 per drink. I don't see the table so I hope this answers the question well enough!:)
