Friedrich Miescher, who was a Swiss scientist, isolated the nucleus. He was the one who found that the main component of a cell's nucleus is nuclein. He discovered that this nuclein is composed of the DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid). The DNA made the nuclein 50 percent acidic, while the attached proteins made it 50 percent basic. The isolation of the nuclein form the nucleus of the cell was a major contribution in the discovery of the genetic code.
