It play an important part in the development of embryos, and it is important for the growth and development of our bodies as well. Mitosis produces new cells, and replaces cells that are old, lost or damaged. In mitosis a cell divides to form two identical daughter cells.

Most stars are at what point in their life cycles? a. supergiant c. main sequence b. giant d. white dwarf

Answer: c. main sequence

The nuclear fusion reaction is the natural process which occurs in the stars which is responsible for their development. The size of the star changes at different stages of their life. A cloud, dust and gas combine to form nebula which is the initial stage of star formation. The star undergoes multiple nuclear fusion reactions with the surrounding heavy compounds like helium, carbon dioxide and hydrogen to attain a stable form. The main sequence is the stable form of star and it takes million's of years to attain this form. Most of the stars in the galaxy are in the main sequence.

A slow reproduction process is a disadvantage of which form of reproduction

Sexual reproduction in contrast with asexual reproduction which is done outside or in other words, no reproductive organs is necessary hence, fertilization is done outside like plants.

Life processes then includes.
1.   Reproduction, is as vital for an entire race to survive. It prolongs their generation onwards and offspring to the next centuries to pass by.
2.
Obtaining energy. In both humans and animals, even plants is a challenge because these creatures need to work in order to obtain these need resource from food –preys.

3.
Maintaining structure. For the living organisms to still exist they need to keep themselves intact. Combating diseases and having nutrition. This is a by-product of having energy.

4. Irritability. Responding to stimulus
5. Excretion. Able to dispose waste
6. Movement. Being able to be in one place to another.
7. Growth. Able to develop.
8. Death.

Which of the following describes the role that enzymes play in the process of metabolism

Answer;

Enzymes increase the rate of the chemical reactions carried out during metabolism.

Explanation;

-Some enzymes help to break down large nutrient molecules, such as proteins, fats, and carbohydrates, into smaller molecules. This process occurs during the digestion of foodstuffs in the stomach and intestines of animals.

-Other enzymes guide the smaller, broken-down molecules through the intestinal wall into the bloodstream. Still other enzymes promote the formation of large, complex molecules from the small, simple ones to produce cellular constituents.

-Enzymes are also responsible for numerous other functions, which include the storage and release of energy, the course of reproduction, the processes of respiration, and vision.

Which plot description would best depict the methods of discovery and communication that a modern professional scientist uses? The scientist collaborates with others to plan and carry out an experiment and then writes a paper that has a clear conclusion. He submits it to a professional journal for peer review, after which the results are presented publicly. The scientist works with a few other scientists in a secret lab that is sponsored by a large business corporation. When the scientists have results, they contact others in the scientific community to report their results. What are the two processes used by producers to obtain energy

Answer;
The two processes used by producers to obtain energy are photosynthesis and chemosynthesis.

Explanation
Producers are those organisms that can make their own energy in an ecosystem using biochemical processes. These biochemical processes are photosynthesis and chemosynthesis.
Photosynthesis involves use of energy from the sunlight together with water and oxygen to make simple sugars. The process converts solar energy to chemical energy (simple sugars).
Chemosynthesis involves use of chemicals as the energy source, rather than sunlight , to make simple sugars such as glucose.
Glucose from both processes is then used for respiration to generate energy or stored in form of starch.

If a cell has 18 chromosomes, how many chromosomes would each daughter cell have after mitosis? a. 36 b. 18 c. The number can't be determined. d. 9

Answer:

B. 18

Explanation:

Mitosis is the cell division that produces two daughter cells from one parent cell. It also maintain the constant number of chromosomes from one generation to next. This is why mitosis is also called as equational cell division. Hence, if a cell with 18 chromosomes undergo mitosis, it would  produce two daughter cells each with 18 chromosomes.
